Hello Vivek,

I have a question regarding Wi-Fi, which was the topic of yesterday's (2 January 2008) post. As I already wrote yesterday in a comment to the post, I will move to a new apartment in the beginning of February. My roommate and I both have laptops. She is using Apple programs and I am using Microsoft. Does this matter when it comes to making our apartment a Wi-Fi Zone?

Hi Kathy

Both Windows and Apple's operating systems will have no trouble in communicating to the wireless network. Just make sure that both your notebooks have a wireless connectivity option.

thank you very much for your advice. I know that my laptop has such an option as I already used it at the airport in Hong Kong. I'll have to find out whether my roommate's has one as well.

yet another question regarding Wi-Fi: how can I make sure that only my apartment is a Wi-Fi zone and not my neighbours' flats too? That is, would it be possible that my next door-neighbours use my Wi-Fi internet connexion?
