Hi fellow readers,

Being a techie myself, I was wondering about any easy-to-use software tool that would assist me in designing the room interiors myself. That way, I can save lots by just hiring the labourers myself and make them work on my designs.

I've been playing around with a couple of such tools. One of them being http://www.smallblueprinter.com/sbp.html

Any of you ever tried such a thing? Any other recommendations?

Cheers,
Bandu.

try floorplanner.com

It is a simple tool for placing common objects in your home and get a feel of it.

If you have lot of time, you can try google sketchup too.

Hi Bandu,

I've tried 'Sweet Home 3D' which is an open source product. It is available for free at download.com
