Hi

I bought the 40 inches Series 5 Samsung Full HD 1080p TV couple of days back. Cost me 67000 payable thru a interest-free processing-fee-free 21-month-instalment-scheme (3 instalments down payments not included).

Compared to the list price of 100,000 that was quite a steal. But was left wondering how much more will these prices crash.

Also the Sony S Series 40 inches Full HD TV (comparable to this Samsung that I bought) was available for 73000. List price of 83000.

So do your check and negotiations before you sign that loan agreement or write that cheque.

Hi Raams Moorthy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_television

Has a very good definition of HD TV. HD stands for High Definition, US tv systems have moved to full HD telecasts. Indian DTH are in digital and regular cable systems are in Analog telecasts.

Welcome to the forum Gopisuhasini. Thanks for sharing this info. Prices will always fall. But that shouldnt dampen our spirits frfom indulging in some luxury ! Enjoy your TV and if possible write a short review for our readers. You can also send some pictures so as to how you have installed the same at home.

cheers

Vivek

PS : please introduce yourself in the main forum (there is a thread for that)

I bought this in the Samsung Digital Store in Hyderabad - in Panjagutta (in Model House). The  guys out there are really helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have a great shopping experience. Not that my inquisitive, fact-finding mission trips to Reliance Digital on Road No. 12 Banjara Hills was any bad. They too were wonderfully service oriented.

Yes Vivek, I am new to this forum. I work in Hyderabad for a private sector FMCG company in the Marketing field. Was in Sales for 13 years and now in Marketing for the last 2 years. I love to do my research on my products purchase before I commit myself. My wife calls me agonizingly painful (talk of redundancy) in taking time to decide the product I bought.

Soon I will write a review of the TV I bought. So far it has been working fine on a Hathway Digital Cable Connection (digicomp driven).

Redundancy is part of life.....

If possible, please send us how your have set up the TV at your home. Is it wall mounted or kept on a surface?
