<p>This is just an image post. I liked this wardrobe a lot. It was very elegant in it&#8217;s design and also simplistic.</p>
<p><a rel="lightbox" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/wardrobe.jpg" title="Wardrobe"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/wardrobe.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Wardrobe" /></a></p>
<p><em>Click Image to continue</em></p>
<p>As you can see from the image above it has 5 storage units on the top where a family can dump their sparingly used stuff.</p>
<p>On the bottom there are two full sized wardrobes. One could be for &#8220;his&#8221; and the other for &#8220;her&#8221;.</p>
<p>There is a small mirror in the center which is accompanied by a drawer to store cosmetics and another storage unit below for holding items.</p>
<p>One thing which could have been provided by the manufacturer is a lamp above to uniformly illuminate the person&#8217;s face who is getting dressed. But this is optional.</p>
<p>Also a good thing about this room was the floor. It had this wooden floor feel attached to it. It consisted of sheets of laminate glued to the the floor and was very nice to walk on. Compared to conventional tiles it was not cold at all to walk on this surface.</p>

<p align="justify"><a href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-09.JPG" title="Step-10" rel="lightbox[749]"></a>We thought it might be a good idea to post on how to maintain ones wardrobe properly. I am sure people have their own ways of maintaining their own wardrobes. Whatever suits you fine is alright. If you think you have a better solution or think your solution works better for you, then by all means do let us know as to how.</p>
<p align="justify">We has earlier touched upon organising clothes here:</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="bookmark" href="http://aavaas.com/2007/11/16/organizing-clothes-in-your-wardrobe/" title="Permanent Link to Organizing Clothes in your Wardrobe"><font color="#b4c24b">Organizing Clothes in your Wardrobe</font></a></p>
<p align="justify">With a few years of ironing experience behind me, I thought I&#8217;ll show people how to fold clothes before putting them in your wardrobe. This is just my way of doing things, and if you feel you have a better way of accomplishing the same, do let us know.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong><u>Folding a Half Sleeve* Shirt** in 10 Easy Steps:</u></strong></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step -01:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Take you half sleeve shirt and fold the collar.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step -02:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Lay it out flat, the buttons facing you and even the surface out. This is shown below</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-01.JPG" title="Step-02"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-01.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-02" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-03:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">This is optional. You may want to button up a few buttons as you will be flipping the shirt later. If you feel, you can flip it without soiling it, then you can skip this step. (With some experience, you will find that you can skip this.) The downside of this is that, when you take your shirt out to wear it, you have to un-button it first and this takes time and can be annoying when you are in a hurry.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-02.JPG" title="Step-03"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-02.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-03" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-04:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Flip the shirt over. Now fold one side of the shirt as shown in fig.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-03.JPG" title="Step-04"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-03.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-04" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><em><strong>Step-05:</strong></em></p>
<p align="justify">Now, just fold one of the sleeves as shown in the fig. below. Make sure all along that there is no wrinkling when you fold it.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-04.JPG" title="Step-05"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-04.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-05" /></a> </p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-06:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Repeat Step 04 with the other side of the shirt. i.e., fold the other side of the shirt inwards. Make sure the spacing is uniform.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-05.JPG" title="Step-06"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-05.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-06" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-07,08:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Repeat Step-05 with the other sleeve. There are two ways of folding sleeves. If you notice carefully, you will see that this sleeve has been folded differently compared to the way the sleeve was folded in Step-05. Both of them work equally fine. This is just to illustrate that it can be done in more than one way. However stick to the same kind of fold on both sleeves.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-06.JPG" title="Step-07"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-06.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-07" /></a><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-07.JPG" title="Step-08"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-07.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-08" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-09:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Now fold the shirt along the horizontal centre inwards, as shown in fig. below.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-08.JPG" title="Step-09"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-08.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-09" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong><em>Step-10:</em></strong></p>
<p align="justify">Flip the shirt over and you are done. Hopefully, it should come out as shown below , if you followed the instructions carefully. Now go ahead and out it in your wardrobe.</p>
<p align="justify"><a rel="lightbox[shirt]" href="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-09.JPG" title="Step-10"><img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/mini-step-09.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Step-10" /></a></p>
<p align="justify"><strong>*</strong>Colloquially we refer to it as Half Shirt. However, half shirt means short tops and hence the usage is not appropriate.</p>
<p align="justify">** &#8211; It is assumed that you are using a wrinkle free shirt. Otherwise, it is better to iron your clothes. Even with wrinkle free clothes, ironing is suggested.</p>

		</div>
<p>One of the uses of wardrobes is for storing clothes. Clothes can be stored in a variety of ways. While some clothes are folded and neatly arranged one on top of another, some of the wardrobes also have provisions to hang the clothes.</p>
<p> <img src="http://aavaas.com/wp-content/uploads/home-wardrobe.jpg" alt="Wardrobe" /></p>
<p><em>Image Courtesy : wardrobemagic.co.uk</em></p>
<p>Typically in middle class Indian homes, clothes are stored by folding and stacking them on top of the other. This saves space when compared to hangings but then retrieval and putting things back is difficult.</p>
<p>Clothes can be arranged in many ways. (These are just my suggestions.)</p>
<p><strong>By season/weather</strong></p>
<p>Put away winter clothes when you won’t be using them. Same goes for other seasons. You won’t need woolens during summer and hence you won’t be retrieving them frequently.</p>
<p><strong>Home wear/outside</strong></p>
<p>What you wear outside can be stacked away separately. This way we don’t have to be appraising clothes when we are in a hurry to go outside. Home wear can be kept separately. </p>
<p><strong>Type of clothes</strong></p>
<p>It makes sense to keep the clothes separately based on their type if not in separate shelves. For example you could divide the shelf such that you have half sleeve shirts stacked separately, full sleeved ones separately…etc.</p>
<p><strong>Shelf</strong></p>
<p>Clothes stored in wardrobes will not always be clothes that you wear. They can include bedspreads, blankets, rain coats…etc. It’s normally a good idea to put heavy clothes like bed spreads, blankets…etc in the bottom most shelf as they will not need to be taken out all that frequently. By not keeping other frequently used clothes there, you don’t have to bend down every time you want to pick a cloth.</p>
<p>The bottom most and top most shelves are devoted to no-so-often used clothes. If possible have drawers for small clothes like socks, kerchiefs…etc. Also typically suits are supposed to be hung.</p>
<p>Also remember, it’s not the organizing that matters, but putting things back where they belong.</p>
