We finally got to cover the Architect Construction Speciality Expo - Chennai. 28 Feb to 2 Mar ‘08 which we first mentioned on 11 Feb 08…Here are our first thoughts about the exhibition.
The event was not really for the common man in our opinion. This however does not mean that one should not attend it. Infact we at aavaas, want customers to attend such shows to know the options that exist in the industry and so that you could choose the best possible offerings for your home interiors/exteriors.
The entry fee was Rs. 40/- per person. (We got an invitation from an exhibitor!!) The price was value for money as the number of irrelevant stalls inside was bare minimum.
One immediate plus of this exhibition was the floor plan and the absence of run off the mill furniture and consumer electronics stalls. Also the exhibitors were not interested in making deals on the spot. Clearly the target audience were architects and savvy consumers…..
The show was well laid out. Walking through wasn’t like doing so in a maze. Some portions were confusing as there were horizontal and vertical paths. Unless one is careful, there are chances that some stalls could be missed out.
Stalls ranged from hardware vendors, doors, tiles, paints to locks, window accessories, and bath accessories. The stalls were well lit had reasonable personnel and there were not too many useless brochures handed out. The area of the exhibition was quite small but it was just right.
Anyway, if you are interested, today is the last day to attend the Architect Expo. (Chennai people only)
We will cover details of some stalls and products in the coming days. Have a fabulous Sunday everyone.
