Curtains and mood settings

This picture was passed on to me by my brother. I was amazed at the simplicity of the decor of this particular living room. Note the matching color of the drapes and the sofas. This contrast is what makes the picture look stylish yet simple.

The room is actually tapering out to form a corner. Mostly corners are associated with less space and are also the most under utilized portions in one’s home. Here the clever design has put the windows near the corner. (it could also be a french window as there is uniform light till the floor level.)
Placing the sofa near the natural light source has made it practical for reading. And for those unwinding evenings, the curtains promise to keep the glare outside.
The lamp on the roof is an incandescent one which gives a particular hue to the room in the photograph.
If you are about to redecorate your living room or buy some new furniture or curtains, perhaps some of the points mentioned here might be of some help.
