I have Sony DAV-DZ870W and I am also not able play any videos (whether MP4 or AVI or other). It in fact says it did not find any audio or image files - suggesting that it was never meant to support video :(

Any hack/upgrade available?

I am planning to setup the home theatre, and anyone could possible suggest should I buy DAV-DZ270 or DAV-DZ570. I know the expensive one should be better, but is there really big different between these two models?

One more thing, DZ310 don't support BluRay player connectivity. But others (DZ610,810...) having this feature. Still I like it since it has other options (USB Play/Rec, FM, Data Disc). I m enjoying movies on all week ends.

Thanks!

Hi Narenra,

I did compar LG with Sony before buy. I have taken my DVD to show room and tried with 3 different sound system (LG,Panasonic,Sony).
1. LG - more loudness (Ears will bleed)
2. Panasonic - Good when compared to LG but i feel it has low bass.
3. Sony - Feel best. Even high pitch it didn't loose the clarity.

I already experienced with DZ777 1000W but i went for DZ310 800W.
1. 1000W - is good but doors, tables, glasses are vibrating since it has more bass.
2. 800W - is good enough for home. It is soft and good enough volume. But it has low chillness since it not has enough tweeters. Later i added external tweeters and now sound effect is awesome.

I recommend to go with SONY if you need depth in bass. (Go with any version depends up on your hall size)

Hi, I have DZ310 and i had the same video playing prob. I converted files to MP4 and its working. Also resolution should not be greater than 720p. Will support (720X576/720X480.....)

Hi Nitin,

I was wondering if you have had any responses from your message above? I bought the DZ570 on the weekend and cant play videos either. It is really annoying. If you do have a way or someone tells you what it is later on, can you please let me know.

Thanks
