HI
I would like to point out some major no-nos of this kitchen design.
1) Hobs and Chimneys are never to be placed near a window as this could lead to dirt, wind and blow-out of the gas. Keeping an open window near a Chimney...what's the point. The smell and grime will spread throughout the kitchen.Better to have the chimney and hob with cabinets on either side.
2) Tall Unit position is no acceptable in kitchen design. Tall Ladder units must always be located near the extreme ends of cabinets...in this case after the fridge itself. This would give a more streamlined worktop from end to end.
3)Space below the hob would be better utilised if the 3 main sets of drawers were with cooking range. a) A 3 pc set of Cutlery basket + CupSaucer Basket and Bottom Palte pullout b) Bottle pullout and c) 2 big wide Vessel Baskets. With these 3 Stooges in place the main cooking experience will be a breeze. Need any more advise on kitchen design??Bryan

@ Kannan

Lighting would be a very important aspect for kitchen especially under the hood and also in the preparation area. So do let us know what you have in mind for that.

piped gas is an amazing concept which is gaining acceptance in many new homes. i guess you would have a meter to measure your consumption and pay to the common society on a monthly basis. is the builder certifying the installation of lpg lines for leakage and stuff like that? do share this information.

vitrified tiles are great for kitchen as they have low porosity and quite stain resistant. so it is a good choice.

Lightings have not yet been thought of. The builder is providing piped gas line and vitrified tiles. How is the piped gas line concept in Chennai?
