I’m stating this from my own experience and this is nothing to do with brand presented here… CFL bulbs are not suited for bathrooms or any rooms where you’d switching on/off the buld multiple times within a short span of time. If used in such rooms, the life of the bulb is cut short drastically. I would suggest it for Kitchens, Dining rooms, Living rooms etc.
Also, another awareness that is not there in India yet (and manufacturers/companies/Govts also turn a blind eye towards creating awareness) is about the safe disposal of such iteams. CFL bulbs contain minuscule amount of mercury which makes it necessary to safely dispose it. If not, accidental breakage might lead to mercury spillage which is next to impossible to spot and clean it. Particulary with kids around - beware. This is my 2 cents on this topic.

    Cheers,
    Ramesh

very true Ramesh….especially the safe disposal points that you have raised in your comment.

And I wish companies who sell these products also mention it clearly on their product boxes - mercury content - safety precautions and the like….

they also seem to be taking consumer’s safety for granted.
