Managing Newspapers at home
January 6th, 2008
I am sure most of us read newspapers at home. Some subscribe to one daily and the uber-literate junta even read 2-3 dailies in a day. I am probably one of the few people who just flick through the paper and eventually would not purchase them moving forward as everything is online. But this is not the point, is it?
For most of us who do read the papers, we know what the biggest problem is. Managing the papers after it has been read. Where do we leave them? How do we make sure that they are not messed up? How do we stack them up neat? I am sure that there are many more such interesting questions.
We recommend that you have some sort of a newspaper stand or organizer where you could dump them on a daily basis and then give them out to the “raddiwala” at the end of the month. One such sample is shown below.

There are quite a few possibilities. You could dedicate a piece of wooden stand for this purpose or even use some large carton box to store the papers. Certainly these are much better than stacking them on the bottom of the coffee table in the living room where they merely gather dust and take some of the aesthetic looks of the home away.
How do you currently manage your papers? Do you like this post? We are looking forward to your comments. Cheers !

I like this stand… I actually got a picture of a wooden stand that I liked and asked my carpenter to make it so the papers would just fit it correct. He made it double the size assuming that I would open the paper and store them. moreover the stand was like 3 feet tall. now I was stuck with no storage and a stand that I didnt wannt throw away. Anyway I inverted the stand and put glass over it and it became a cool side table. bottomline is i am still looking for a good newspaper storage idea…
maybe i can have one like your picture made… hmm…
this one actually looks pretty good and maybe the local grill guy can make something like this.

@kavitha
thanks for leaving a great comment behind. The first one was funny, but I am sure you didnt laugh the first time.
for the second picture, I think if the metal bars are going to be that thick, it would make it heavy. Just a thought.
The newspaper stand shown here looks plain. But it’s the utility that counts. The one Kavitha pointed out looks better i guess.
