Minimum Installation Requirements

- A switch to activate/deactivate the trash masher should be available near the sink.
Operation
- The trash masher has to be activated for about 20 seconds after washing of vessels is completed.
Power Consumption
- According to the manufacturers the power consumption is trivial as it is operated only for a short span on time.
Cost
Cost of the trash masher varies (for hindware) from 4900 rupees to around 6900 rupees.

It’s great that readers are finally posting back in the site. hope more readers take cue…
i have few doubt on the Trash Masher ;
1. Will the outlet of the Trash Masher being conceled to Draining Pipe ?? Then how about servicing requirement.
2. Sometimes the rats enter through drainage pipe in the sink, what would happen to the Trash Masher,.. whethere the Trash Masher will automatically run… or Rat would spoil the Trash masher.
3. The electrical wiring under the sink ???? What about the water leakage… will there would not be short circuit.
Can anyone answer this???
@ Bala
I hope I can answer some of your questions:
a) The trashmasher would fit between your sink and the outlet pipe. It would be seamless and you would not notice that it is even installed. As for the servicing part, the device would have to be removed and at this time you cannot use the sink.
b) The diameter of the sink pipe should not be large enough to accomodate a full grown rat. however younger rats and pests can get into the pipe. most trashmashers have safety mesh and arrangements to prevent entry from below into the device. small pests can get into the device. For example coackroaches. Spraying some pest control liquid should be a good measure to keep them out.
c) The trashmasher should not cause any problem as the wiring is concealed and also well insulated. Just make sure that the plug is fitted into a socket which is situated ABOVE the sink.

Quick Response
But, i am still pesimist on the apprach, since staying in the ground floor, there is always the problem of Big Rats entering the drainage pipe..
I appreciate the site.. being useful. and quick responsivenes
thank you for the feedback. If rats are a problem in general, we suggest you hire some professional agencies to eliminate them. Just a thought.
Trash masher becomes rat masher. There you go, pest control accomplished. But, on a more serious note, do rats enter from underneath the sink ? If that is indeed that case, then at the time of installation of the trashmasher, you could install an additional mesh below the trashmasher inside the pipe.
