Just happened to see this ad on TV. We feel that for a company which is present in over 20 countries spanning across 4 continents, there could be a better message conveyed to the public.

Watch this advertisement:

The objectionable frames in this advertisement are the ones where the gentleman is having the tap open while shaving.

Grundfos

You be the judge and let us know if this ad should have been more responsible in portraying water usage at home.

    Hi,

I completely agree with you that companies have a big responsibility in environmental questions! Consumers should definitely pay attention to such topics when comparing different brands.

    Cheers,
    Kathy

Do you think the company is to blame here or is it the advertising agency that’s to blame ?

Company is the one which approves the ad. So I would not blame the ad agency.

I still can’t understand how a Pump will ensure uniform water supply in all faucets of the house!

Regarding the ad, I think the co., being a water-pumps one needed to show that by using their pumps water would be abundant! Conservation would be a backward step for them :P

    Hey Vivek,

Very well pointed out. It is good that you are getting this message across through your blog…

    @ Chittaranjan

If the water pressure is not equally distributed, taps nearest to the supply would get the highest pressure and the ones far away would get the lowest. Also the positioning of the tap ,i.e. floor wise would create a difference too.

A pump would create an artificial pressure ground up unlike the overhead water tanks which create pressure top down.

Perhaps this would lead to equal pressure in all faucet as there is no dependancy on the location of the faucet. this is the feature which the ad is trying to address.

I do not agree that using a pump automatically means abundance of water. I am sure that they design their pumps to be electrically efficient. Why do this when electricity is abundant? Conservation of any natural resource should be a priority for companies.

Thank you. just trying to make people more comfortable and more socially aware of issues surrounding us.
