To convert the empty spaces in your house and take it towards the ideal home, you would be purchasing many items. These could be electrical appliances, furniture or kitchen articles. For all these purchases you are normally given a receipt and also other important documents like user manuals, gurantee/warranty cards, service contact numbers and so on.

The tip of the day is to maintain one file for storing all these documents. This would serve as a one point reference to all your needs in future. It could range from sudden breakdown while functioning or an unexpected behaviour. If you can create this file, it would save a lot of time and agony.

On the cover of the file, it would be helpful to have some kind of an index which tells you in summary the purchase date , next service due date, AMC* renewal date and so on.

Although I wrote this article, I am yet to follow the concept! :-) (this is a test comment from my mobile phone)

You can also organize your receipts quickly and securely on http://www.shoeboxed.com, THE web app for this kind of organization. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Yup, saving receipts is a great way to avoid getting into trouble with the IRS later on as well. For those upcoming bills, it’s also important to have a decent bill payment reminder/reporting service.

Our team is working on internet-based software to manage all monthly bills. It will remind you via e-mail or text if you choose and then you can report on monthly expenses.
